A 17th century Westcountry Martial Arts instruction manual. Written by the Bristol gentleman Joseph Swetnam in 1617, this book immortalised the teachings of the master. Although originally from Bristol, Swetnam taught in Plymouth. It was whilst teaching in Plymouth that Swetnam developed a sincere love for Devon and Cornwall.
