Our mission
We share traditional Westcountry Martial Arts with the world. We will build a stronger global connection to our local heritage, and preserve folk martial arts for future generations.
Custodians of countryside combat sports
Over 10 years ago, we started with a simple mission: to practice a local martial art. Today, we bring that martial art to the wider world.
Connection
We will grow a community: to coach students to learn and grow and encourage them to actively own their own growth, and to support leaders to set up their own schools.
Standardisation
To standardise an easy path to proficiency, drawn from across 6 counties, across 600 years. The curriculum represents our commitment to gift-wrap the art for others.
Inclusion
To enable access and empower anyone and everyone, regardless of creed, background, personal views, religious or cultural affiliation, race, sexual orientation to participate.
Promotion
To share with abundance and generosity without withholding anything that might be of value to practitioners and to the furtherance of the art.
Preservation
To archive, preserve and promote a collection of historical artefacts relevant to the ancient history of the sport, and make them readily available to members.
Collaboration
To work with individual's and organisations who share our mission. We're promoting both Cornish and Devonshire Wrestling, to see them flourish in modern times.
