WRESTLING. The 18th annual wrestling match took place at the Lamb Inn, Sandford, Monday and Tuesday in the July fair week. The grand stand was well patronised, there being many gentlemen, farmers, and tradesmen present. The triers, Messrs. Crispino, Harrel, and Anderson, carried out their duties with much patience.

There was some very hard play in making standards. Oliver threw G. Jackman, and held out Ilss of Cheriton; Leyman made his standard very early, while Burnett had two good men to compete with, Drew and Bradford, but threw both. G. Greenslade and Coles made their standards easily. B. Bond, of Sandford, threw two good men in excellent style.

In the double play, Coles threw Balson and R. Bond. John Cheriton called Bond, who threw his man in very quick time. G. Greenslade threw W. Acres after a good bout. Then Ilss and Oliver were matched, but Ilss threw his man in very quick time. Snell and J. Herd played some very good bouts, but Snell threw his man.

In the treble play G. Greenslade had a good bout with Coles, throwing him in the best of style. R. Bond played a very hard turn with Mounsdon, Bond throwing his man. Chamberlain and Burnett played forty minutes in fine style, then having to toss; Chamberlain won.

Final prizes: Leyman 1st; Chamberlain 2nd; Greenslade 3rd; Snell 4th.
