Gloucester Cathedral, Misericords (1350)
[S57] The wrestlers. Two men, stripped to the waist and wearing braies [medieval breeches] are wrestling, each holding the other by a short scarf around the neck. Available to view online. Note that the 1350 date is the earliest, as it’s been dated to the latter half of the 14th century.
