OKEHAMPTON ANNUAL GRAND WRESTLING MATCH, For TWENTY SOVEREIGNS! ON THURSDAY and FRIDAY, the 5th and 6th of AUGUST next, another grand opportunity presents itself for Devonias justly celebrated sons to display their courage and science, in the noble and manly exercise of WRESTLING, Where, last year, so many fine fellows gained those never-fading laurels, which must rank them amongst the bravest men of the present age. The Wrestling will positively commence on the first day by one o’clock, and on the second day by ten o’clock in the morning, and no one will be allowed to contend for a share in, or for either of the prizes, after three o’clock in the afternoon of the second day, consequently early attendance on each day is particularly requested, and will be duly appreciated by the Committee. Those who may be unfortunate (tho’ brave) in play, will meet with liberal Encouragement. Three respectable Umpires will be chosen from different Parishes, whose impartiality can be relied on. A Spacious Ring will be formed and seated, and a sufficient number of Booths erected, well supplied with every refreshment to give accommodation to the public in general. An Ordinary each day by one o’clock, at the White Hart. Dated Okehampton, July 20th, 1824.
