Exeter Flying Post, Crediton Wrestling Field: sale by auction (1817)
CREDITON, DEVON. TO be SOLD in Fee, with immediate possession, all that Field or Close of Land, containing about one acre (more or less) called the LITTLE CLOSE, or WRESTLING FIELD, situate near Thresher’s Causeway, in Crediton, and now in possession of Mr. Philip Stone.—Also, for the Life of the said Philip Stone, aged 50, with immediate possession, and together or in lots, as shall be agreed upon at the sale, all that DWELLING-HOUSE, with the appurtenances, and two productive orchards adjoining the same, containing together about 2 acres, (more or less) now also in his tenure, and situate also near Thresher’s Causeway. For which purpose an Auction will be held at the Angel Inn, Crediton, on Monday the 31st March inst. at six o’clock in the evening. Mr. Stone will shew the premises, and particulars may be had of Mr. Smith, solicitor, Crediton. Crediton, March 15th, 1817.
