WRESTLING.—Okehampton grand Wrestling Match takes place to-morrow and Friday. Twenty Guineas, being the sum to be wrestled for, the lovers of that gymnastic sport in the neighbourhood anticipate a treat, as it will no doubt induce many of the best players in the county to contend for the various prizes.—On Wednesday and Thursday last there was a grand display of strength and science at Newton Abbott; William Cann won the 1st prize, and Rogers, of Witheridge, the 2d.—A grand match, for 10 sovereigns, took place at North Tawton, on Thursday and Friday last. So strongly was it contested between the neighbouring parishes at the East and West of that place, and the balance of power proving so equal at four o’clock the last day, when no less than sixteen laid claim to a share in the prize, and the skill and science displayed on both sides, that it doubtful which should wear the laurel. After hard struggle till midnight, the 1st prize was awarded to James Stone, the 2d to Robert Jackman, both of Colebrooke, and the 3d to William Smith, of Monkokehampton. The play throughout was good, and the enlivening band made the scene truly delightful.
